This mixed media digital painting took me 7+ years to, get this, Release. This is very much my first painting since the piece for the MoMA all the way back when I was young. Every other piece I’ve made felt very much like a sketch, a step along the way.

There’s a lot of resistance to Release things, be it for love, hate, or just plain ol’ difficulty. There are many obstacles in our way at times, often of our own doing. I believe what it takes to break through these barriers, to reach the next dimension, we must use our hearts, our minds, and our guts.

Our heart, I signify with the red/pink, pulls us forward. It is the beat to which our army marches. Our mind, I signify with the blue/cyan, lifts us up and lets us even define an “up” to begin with. Fun fact, did you know your eyeballs are bits of brain matter pushed out of your skull? And our gut/womb, pulls us in an entirely different way. Our stomachs have a mind of their own! In fact there’s an entire network of nerves in there!

I’ve put a lot of my heart, mind, and soul into this piece. I hope that it’ll help you reach new dimensions.
